Extraordinary winter claims amounted to DKK 700m in first quarter 2010

The Nordic winter of 2010 was the hardest in more than 20 years in Denmark and
more than 100 years in Norway and subsequently TrygVesta's claims expenses for
first quarter 2010 are significantly impacted by this event.

Extraordinary claims related to winter in the first quarter of 2010 amounted to
DKK 700m and were especially related snow pressure claims for Danish farms and
industrial buildings and fire- and water related claims for Norwegian houses.

The claims expenses are higher than previously estimated and especially
impacted by claims assessed after the release of the Annual Report 2009
releases on 25 February 2010.

In Denmark, the winter related claims amounted to DKK 400m, in Norway to DKK
300m and in Sweden to SEK 50m. After expected coverage from reinsurance the net
claim amounts to DKK 700m.

Only 15 % or approximately DKK 100m have been paid to claims and the remainder
85 % of the claim expenses are reserves.

The extraordinary winter claims consequently impact the 2010 guidance for the
technical result before run-off negatively by DKK 700m and combined ratio
before run-off guidance is increased by 3 percentage points from 93-95 to
96-98. Over the past four years run-offs have on average amounted to
approximately DKK 700m per year.

The first quarter 2010 results and updated guidance for 2010 will be published
on 21 May 2010.
