New bundles leverage existing infrastructure to deliver high QoS on-demand connections deeper into the access market Las Vegas (NAB 2010) - April 12, 2010 - Net Insight, a leading developer of efficient and scalable transport solutions for media, IP and broadcast networks, today introduced its Access Bundles for the Nimbra 340 and Nimbra 680 series of multiservice switches. The offering extends the scope of the Nimbra platform, allowing Net Insight to deliver technologies further into the access market. Net Insight Access Bundles enable operators to use existing infrastructure to deliver high QoS, on-demand connections to accomodate market demand for digital video services, without incurring additional costs. The bundles are now available to provide contribution access applications based on Net Insight's Nimbra 340 and 680 platforms for smaller studios, remote branch offices and event venues. "The addition of the Access Bundles to Net Insight's offerings allows us to broaden our scope to enter new, untapped markets," said Per Lindgren, VP business development at Net Insight. "As consumer demand for media-rich content increases, service providers' must deploy media access equipment closer to their customers to provide better QoS to differentiate and optimize their service offerings. These access bundles provide a cost efficient option to reach deeper into the network without sacrificing quality and manageability." The Access Bundles offer a cost-effective, high-performance access solution for transport of HD-SDI/SD-SDI/ASI and Ethernet services that runs over any Optical/TDM or IP/MPLS/Ethernet infrastructure. It can be used in any topology, including point-to-point, ring or mesh. The high level of flexibility makes it ideal for contribution of all forms, either remote over a media network, or locally over dark fiber or Ethernet. The Access Bundles are easily configured and connect through a Web GUI Element Manager or through Net Insight's Network and Service Management System, Nimbra Vision. The Nimbra 340 Access Bundles include the Nimbra 340 Base Unit and 2 AC power converters, and are available in the following versions: * Nimbra 340 ASI Access Bundle - comes with 5 different network interface options * Nimbra 340 SDI/ASI Access Bundle - comes with 3 different network interface options * Nimbra 340-HD Access Bundle * Nimbra 340-HD/SD Access Bundle The Nimbra 680 Access Bundles come in two versions for AC and DC deployments and include the Nimbra 680 Base Unit with redundant power supplies, one 40 Gbps Switch Module and one Node Controller and the following traffic modules: * 8 port Video access with optional HD-SDI support * 8 port Gigabit Ethernet access with optional Ethernet switching support * One Nimbra 680 trunk module For more information, please contact: Fredrik Trägårdh, CEO of Net Insight AB, +46 8 685 04 69,fredrik.tragardh@netinsight.net <mailto:fredrik.tragardh@netinsight.net> About Net Insight Net Insight delivers the world´s most efficient and scalable transport solution for Broadcast and IP Media, Digital Terrestrial TV, Mobile TV and IPTV/CATV networks.
