LAS VEGAS, April 12, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- City National Bank today announced that it has appointed Gary Goodheart as the new chairman of the bank's Southern Nevada Advisory Board. Goodheart, a prominent attorney and managing partner of the Jones Vargas Law Firm, replaces Peter Thomas who rotated off as chairman of the advisory board.

Goodheart joined City National's Southern Nevada Advisory Board in 2007, along with 10 other prominent business leaders who are still serving on the board today. As chairman of the bank's advisory board, Goodheart will be responsible for a variety of responsibilities, including the running of each meeting, assisting with prospecting new referral business, offer product enhancement suggestions, provide input on the economy, take part in bank-sponsored functions, and more.

Goodheart, who began his legal career with Jones Vargas more than 35 years ago, also serves as chair of the firm's Executive Committee. His practice involves commercial law cases, with an emphasis on title insurance and escrow matters.
Goodheart holds a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Bachelor of Science degree with high honors from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is admitted to practice law in the state and federal courts of Nevada and California. Goodheart is a member of the Clark County Bar Association.
