LAGUNA BEACH, CA--(Marketwire - April 14, 2010) - Passport to the Arts is proud to announce its recent award-winning status as recipient of the 2010 Art Stars Award for Outstanding Arts Collaboration by the Laguna Beach Alliance for the Arts (LBaa). Last year, this program was responsible for increasing attendance to all three festivals, bringing greater attention to the arts in Laguna Beach, increasing tourism and providing a strong source of revenue for the City of Laguna Beach.
The collaborative Passport team has worked hard this past year for the opportunity to offer this successful promotional arts program again. The Laguna Beach Passport to the Arts will be offered this 2010 summer season by the three world-renowned summer art festivals of Laguna Beach -- Art-A-Fair, The Festival of Arts, and Sawdust Festival -- in partnership with the Laguna Beach Visitors & Conference Bureau and the City of Laguna Beach. Building on the success of the Passport's 2009 introduction, the program maintains the same price as last summer of just $19 (a $36 value) and offers Passport holders unlimited admission to all three festivals for the entire season from June 25 through August 31, 2010. That's 68 days of art and entertainment for the mere cost of two movie tickets.
Passport holders can enjoy more than 500 magnificent artists, 300 hands-on workshops, and dozens of special events, plus a one time, all-day free parking pass with each ticket. They will also be entitled to special discounts from selected retailers, merchants, and restaurants throughout Laguna Beach.
Offering convenient purchase, the 2010 Passport to the Arts is currently on sale at www.LagunaBeachPassport.com. Many Passports have already been sold, indicating the loyalty of last year's Passport holders and the success of the program. Those who purchase the Passport online by May 15, 2010, will automatically be entered in a drawing to win a "Laguna Beach Getaway for Two" this fall. Included are two nights at Inn at Laguna Beach, on oceanfront property, meals, a cooking class, and other valuable prizes to create a truly memorable retreat.
Well-known Laguna Beach artist and actress, Eve Plumb, who played Jan Brady on the popular 1970s television series, The Brady Bunch, supports the 2010 Passport to the Arts. As a patron of the arts, Plumb demonstrates her artistic passion and commitment by taking time from her schedule to attend the 2010 Passport kickoff event, the night before leaving for her own art opening in Virginia. "From an artist's perspective, the Passport does something more than just provide great affordable entertainment. It features the three great art festivals here in our town that give hundreds of artists an opportunity to showcase their artwork," said Plumb. She continued, "But I do know a great deal when I see one, and the Passport to the Arts is at a price point that even a large family could afford."
The Laguna Beach Passport to the Arts can be ordered online at www.LagunaBeachPassport.com or by calling 949.497.0521. The Passport will also be on sale at any of the festival box offices and at the City's Recreation Center during the run of the shows. A complete list of merchants offering discounts to Passport holders during the summer festival season is also available online or at any of the festival box offices. Free shuttle service to the festivals from various points in Laguna and from the ACT V parking lot will be available throughout the summer.
