CoStar Group's Jennifer Kitchen Named Finalist in Annual Women in Technology Leadership Awards

WASHINGTON, April 15, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- CoStar Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:CSGP), the number one provider of information, marketing and analytic services to commercial real estate professionals in the United States and United Kingdom, today announced that Jennifer Kitchen, Senior Vice President of Research, has been named a finalist in the Corporate Commercial Large Business category for the Eleventh Annual Women in Technology (WIT) Leadership Awards. Award winners will be announced at a May 20, 2010 banquet at the Ritz Carlton Tysons Corner, McLean, VA.

"It is a great honor to be selected as a finalist for this prestigious award and to be associated with such an impressive group of dynamic and extraordinary women throughout the nation," said Kitchen. "It is especially rewarding to know that the contributions that I have made to CoStar Group over the years have been viewed as significant enough to gain the selection committee's attention."

Kitchen oversees CoStar Group's largest business unit, which is responsible for building and maintaining the largest database of commercial real estate property data ever assembled. With CoStar's CEO, Andrew Florance, she pioneered innovative technology used in commercial real estate data collection, co-authoring a field research patent, No. 7,487,114, for systems and methods for associating aerial images with map features and related information to efficiently collect millions of photographs and data points on commercial real estate each year.

CoStar's extensive database includes over 1.4 million property listings accounting for over 71.5 billion square feet tracked.   Jennifer's team is responsible for over 130,000 daily updates and over 1.8 million property photographs. It is the largest database of its kind, providing clients unprecedented detail and data encompassing the commercial real estate industry.

"Over the course of her 15 years at CoStar, Jennifer's responsibilities have grown exponentially, from managing 10 employees as a Research Manager to more than 900 today," said Andrew Florance, CEO of CoStar Group. "The systems she helped develop are critical to CoStar Group's growth and success. We are especially pleased that the Women in Technology Leadership Award committee also recognizes her achievements. Her selection as a finalist serves as a testament to her abilities and her tireless work on behalf of CoStar."
