CHEVY CHASE, MD--(Marketwire - May 6, 2010) - A new series of podcasts on business succession planning has been launched by The Holleman Companies of Chevy Chase. Each podcast features an in-depth interview with a prominent business owner who has lived through a succession plan.
The first Holleman Business Succession Forum(SM) features an interview with the legendary Austin Kiplinger of Kiplinger Publishers, who followed his father in the business and whose son now runs the iconic publishing firm.
Succession expert Vernon C. Holleman, III, president of the firm, hosts the series.
"When my father died unexpectedly in 1999, it soon became clear to me that business-succession planning is 80% about the emotional issues involved," he said. "Mechanical, legal, and financial considerations are certainly important, but are far easier to manage if clarity is achieved on the more difficult personal issues."
The discussions will focus on the emotional and political aspects of their experiences during succession.
"I hope that business owners and their advisors will gain insight into the important issues involved with succession planning and that this awareness will lead to more success with their own planning and family dynamics," Holleman said.
The podcasts can be heard at www.hollemanco.com and clicking on the podcast icon in the top right. You can also sign up to receive an email alert when each new podcast is available, or sign up through iTunes.
