TECHNOPOLIS PRESS RELEASE May 18, 2010 13:00 EYE CENTER TO OPEN ON FINNMEDI, TAMPERE LIFE SCIENCES CAMPUS IN 2011 Technopolis Finnmedi is a new campus specializing in healthcare technology and life sciences services in Tampere. Technopolis and the Joint Municipal Authority of the Pirkanmaa Hospital District (PSHP) have signed an agreement on the construction of a new, innovative eye center at the Finnmedi campus. Finnmedi, a competence center for life sciences and well-being, will be built at an excellent location right next to the Tampere University Hospital, the Tampere University of Applied Sciences and Tampere University. Work on the project will begin immediately, in May 2010. The Finnmedi facilities, targeted at companies specializing in well-being services and medical technology, will be completed by the end of 2011. Technopolis Finnmedi will also include parking space for approximately 150 vehicles. The innovative environment will include a 2,000 m2 office complex which will be leased to several tenants. Marketing of these premises will start immediately. The eye center project is estimated to cost approximately EUR 12.8 million. Once completed, it will cover nearly 5,500 m2.
