ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwire - May 27, 2010) - (LSI) -- Grammy-nominated comedian, multi-platinum recording artist and New York Times Bestselling Author Ron White has partnered with Producer Michael Blakey to form Organica Music Group (OMG). Mr. White has invested $1,000,000. OMG will promote both emerging and established music/comedic artists. Mr. White, a Texas native and current Atlanta resident, will release all his future DVD/CDs through OMG.
Michael Blakey will run OMG's daily operations and serve as President of the Music Division with Ron White serving as President of the Comedy Division. Blakey, former President of 2k/Virgin Records Music Division and 5-time Grammy nominee, has worked with many of the top artists around the world and has sold over 140 million albums worldwide with over 60 albums earning platinum or gold status.
According to Pollstar, White has been one of the top 5 touring comedians in the USA over the past 4 years. His DVD/CDs have sold well over 10 million units, between his solo projects ("Drunk in Public," "You can't Fix Stupid," and "Behavioral Problems") and the Blue Collar Comedy Tour series (I, II, and III). His next album will be released through OMG in 2011.
Joining White and Blakey as a partner is Drew Edwards, CFO of OMG. Edwards has worked for over 25 years in Fortune 500 and boutique companies and over the past 7 years has served as President of Ron White, Inc.
OMG has three divisions. Emerging Artists are: Margo Rey (currently positioned at #4 on Perfect Beat Dance Charts), George Hodos and Carmen Perez (both have had top 5 songs).
