HALLOWELL, ME--(Marketwire - June 8, 2010) - Granite Hill Estates (GHE), the Kennebec Valley's premier continuing care retirement community, will conduct its Second Annual Garden Tour on Saturday, June 26, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., on the grounds of the GHE campus. Granite Hill Estates is located at 60 Balsam Drive in Hallowell, Maine.
"It's wonderful that so many people want to come see what we're doing here," said Ulrich "Uli" Jacobsohn, a Granite Hill resident who won Best Garden last year. "We're always eager for spring to arrive so we can start cultivating and planting. That people from the community want to come see what we do is like sharing a labor of love. It's another aspect of the beauty of living here."
The Garden Tour is free and open to the public. A barbecue luncheon will be served from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. There will be a drawing for door prizes during the afternoon. And attendees will be able to vote for the best garden and the best planter box. The winners will be the reigning champions until next year's Tour.
To get to Granite Hill Estates, take exit 109 from the south or 109B from the north off I-95 (Winthrop). Head west on Route 202. Take a left onto Edison Drive. GHE is on the right.
