NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - June 10, 2010) -
"A confidence in her voice foretells an ability to stay in the driver's seat no matter how rambunctious and rugged or sweet and smooth her musical turns take… Her pretty voice blends in so well with the organ, piano, and acoustic guitar that she has hit maker written all over her." -- Bill Copeland, Ctrl Alt Music
"Anna Rose is gifted with a deep, full, sexy voice." -- National Syndicated Columnist Stacy Smith
"A pop starlet." -- LA Music Blog
Anna Rose is a 25-year-old singer, songwriter, pianist and, primarily, guitarist crazy about rock and roll at its most ruggedly expressive. Earlier this year, Rose was asked to be part of the Jam for Ron Asheton; a tribute to the late guitarist of the Stooges who passed away one year ago. Anna belted out "Gimme Danger" backed by original Stooges Scott Asheton, Mike Watt and Steve Mackay.
Nomad, released this week (June 8), is her debut full-length collection. Produced by Billy Sullivan and Anna Rose, Nomad was recorded in New York and California and makes a singular impression of a female singer-songwriter imagining with fresh new verve the great rock and roll tradition of high craft and liberated spirit. Nomad was executive-produced by legendary producer Bruce Botnick (The Doors; Love).
Released with a strong online presence, both MSN and AOL Music feature Nomad front and center, providing site visitors with a full stream of Nomad. Combined, there are more than 6 million unique visitors each month to these two sites alone. "Whispers," from the album is featured on a number of sites, including Venuszine.com, Music Remedy and ESD Music.
In addition to the strong on-line presence, national music store chains AIMS and CIMS are featuring Anna Rose and Nomad for the entire month of June with prominent in-store placement.
The songs on Nomad concentrate on contrasts between people, places, emotions and several thousand other things in ways that are as carefully considered as they sound completely organic. "The Four Corners," has that Joni Mitchell feel to it, quick short phrasing playing off the clicking acoustic guitar backing. The song "You Got It For Free" highlights the balance between Rose's earthy voice with acoustic guitar and a solid band with a rock and roll streak. "Picture" is another sharply put together story tune with a slow, thick riff that anchors the entire song. A gorgeous music video for "Picture" was shot in one day on the boardwalk of Coney Island. Directed by Shruti Ganguly, the video portrays a beautiful message of love, life and music. The video can be seen on outlets such as MTV.com, VH1.com, SpikeTV.com, LOGO, Ultimate Guitar TV, Static Multimedia, Stark Magazine and many more.

A long-time supporter of Green Chimneys, the nationally renowned, non-profit organization with a mission of restoring possibilities and creating futures for children with emotional, behavioral, social and learning challenges through educational, therapeutic and outreach services, while providing care for animals and nature, Anna Rose and her father, Academy-award winner Alan Menken, were the featured performers at this year's recent fund-raiser which honored the celebrated photographer, Bruce Weber.
Anna Rose continues to perform live with her band around New York City to packed houses. Extended dates will be announced shortly.
