MILPITAS, Calif., June 22, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- LTX-Credence Corporation (Nasdaq:LTXC), a global provider of focused, cost-optimized ATE solutions, today announced Rising Micro Electronics Co., LTD (RME), a leading supplier of advanced high frequency communication RFICs (Radio Frequency Integrated Circuit) in the wireless communication market, has selected the LTX-Credence X-Series platform for volume production of the first of a new generation of TD-SCDMA RF transceivers, the RS2012. The test solution on the X-Series is one of the first semiconductor test equipment implementations for digital TD-SCDMA transceivers in the world and represents a significant advance in high volume production of TD-SCDMA devices. The success of the project was the result of strong collaboration between LTX-Credence, Spirox (LTXC's value added partner in Taiwan and China) and RME engineers. With LTX-Credence and Spirox providing test expertise and best-in-class support to the RME engineering team, the RS2012, a very high performance TD-SCDMA transceiver, was successfully released into high volume production test.
"Our chip is a TD-SCDMA RF device that includes high performance digital requiring a tester with superior RF test performance, tightly coupled digital features and the latest digital signal processing capabilities," said Steve Wang, chief executive officer of RME. "The innovative technology of the X-Series enabled us to complete a complicated digital interface transceiver test solution in a short time, and allowed us to validate the top-rank performance of our RS2012 transceiver chips with low power consumption, the world's most precise EVM — around 2% TX EVM, 3% RX EVM, -38 dBc LO suppression and perfectly autonomous calibration so that it can match all needs in TD-SCDMA market."
Dave Tacelli, chief executive officer and president of LTX-Credence commented, "At the outset of the project we were presented with the task of developing an ATE solution for one of the most advanced 3G transceivers to hit the market. Through effective collaboration we delivered an ATE solution that addresses the most challenging testing need for 3G wireless communication devices, in addition to reducing the time to volume production for RME. The X-Series remains the industry standard for cost effective RF testing. The close collaboration between RME engineers, LTX-Credence and Spirox was critical to the success of the project and is a testament to our ability to provide world-class support to our customers anywhere in the world."
