SHIJIAZHUANG, China, June 22, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Mount Knowledge Holdings, Inc. (OTCBB:MKHD), an educational software development, sales and training company offering innovative and proprietary learning products and training services worldwide, is pleased to announce the completion of the Mount Knowledge™ 21st Century Teacher Certification Program with the Hebei Normal University, College of Foreign Languages.
In December 2009, Mount Knowledge, Inc, an affiliated research and development company based in Toronto, Canada, partnered with Hebei Normal University, College of Foreign Languages in Shijiazhuang, China. The partnership created a Post-Graduate program for professors in English Learning referred to as the "Mount Knowledge™ 21st Century Teacher Certification Program" (or, "L21 Certification Program"). Successful graduates of the program not only become certified in China to teach students on our software products Knowledge Generator™ and Examatar™; as well as the Syntality™ learning methodology; but they also gain university credits toward their post graduate studies.
The L21 course builds on effective technology integration skills. The course encourages teachers to use Mount Knowledge's interactive self learning tools, along with their normal teaching methods to sharpen students' higher-order of thinking skills. The complete course requires 24-40 hours of face-to-face training and 12-20 hours of self-study and provides teachers with a foundation of skills to fully integrate technology into existing classroom curricula and promote student-centered learning.
After months of planning, the formal L21 Certification Program was launched in late April 2010 under the guidance of Erwin Sniedzins, the founder of Mount Knowledge, and Professor Li Zhengshua, Dean of the University's College of Foreign Language.
Director of the College of Foreign Language Studies at Hebei Normal University Cecelia Sun Yan commented, "I have never seen such comprehensive collaborative learning technology tools before. I am very excited to be part of this international program. Already I have ideas on how to do more research on the effectiveness of this approach in helping different students and teachers."
The inaugural graduating class of University instructors has the opportunity to continue refining their English speaking and grammar skills by assisting the University in training other teachers, including the use of Mount Knowledge products in their own student classrooms. The L21 Certification Program will continue throughout the summer and will focus on training other primary school teachers to ultimately bring Mount Knowledge products to local schools outside of the University.
"We couldn't ask for a more eager and distinguished group of professors to complete our first class," stated Erwin Sniedzins. "They will represent us proudly as well as assist us in filling the classrooms of our own, soon to be announced, flagship Learning Center in Shijiazhuang, China."
