RONKONKOMA, NY--(Marketwire - June 30, 2010) - Sigma Corporation of America (www.sigmaphoto.com) is kicking off the start of summer with a fun and exciting photography contest geared toward moms who enjoy capturing their most memorable family moments.
As many families are readying for a summer full of beach outings, picnics and getaways, the family-owned and operated camera and lens manufacturer today launched the Sigma Corporation of America "Momtographers' Photo Contest" to showcase photos in three categories: "Dressed for Success," "The Holidays and Vacation," and "Funny Faces." Sigma will award a grand prize of $2,500 cash to the owner of the best overall photo.
"Many families have images that tell stories and spur nostalgic memories," said Mark Amir-Hamzeh, general manager of Sigma Corporation of America. "These images are like gold. Moms are often like the family historian, capturing and preserving these images through photographs. This contest is an opportunity to spotlight them and showcase their talents."
Images will be accepted until Aug. 16, 2010, and can be submitted via the Sigma Corporation of America Web site at www.sigmaphoto.com/momtographers.
Once the submission process closes, the public will vote for their favorite photos, and the top vote-getter in each category will receive $500 worth of Sigma products. Separate from the voting, Sigma executives will choose a grand prize winner to receive $2,500 in cash.
