Can you give us some background on Verdi Corrente Productions?

VCP was founded in 2009 as a partnership between me an established Rhode Island businessman and award-winning director/producer Michael Corrente. Verdi Corrente Productions (VCP) is an independent and fully-funded media production company based in New York City and RI. We currently have several movies in the pipeline and just finished our first feature film Inkubus. VCP is positioning itself to be a serious contender in the film industry.

For a new company in the entertainment industry, you have attracted some very impressive names and talent to your team. Can you give our readers some examples of the range of talent in your portfolio of movies, Inkubus, Loosies, Infected and Paz?

We are extremely excited about the caliber of talent on board.

I am thrilled that VCP has just signed Michael Madsen, who is best known for his work with director Quentin Tarantino, to its next horror film, "Infected" that will begin shooting in Oct of 2010. It was written by Glenn Ciano & Robert Rotondo Jr. and Glenn Ciano will direct. Actor Tom DeNucci (Brotherhood, Inkubus) will be paying along side of Madsen.
To come out of the shoot as a new film company with a list of names we have signed should turn some heads in Hollywood!

Can you tell us what stage the company is at right now and what can audiences expect to see from the company?

VCP just finished its first feature, a horror film entitled "Inkubus," starring Robert Englund. Over the next eighteen months, VCP will produce five more features, starting with "Loosies," the tale of a New York pick pocket that begins filming July 15th 2010, and culminating with "Paz." It's the real life comeback story of Vinny Pazienza, the Rhode Island boxer, who at the height of his career, broke his neck and was told he may never walk again and his boxing days were over for good. This story is what many feel, is the greatest comeback in sports history, as he went on to defied all odds and became a world champion four more times.

In terms of the future funding of the company, have any companies or groups approached you about going public, or is this something you are considering?
A: Managing Partner and Producer; Chad A. Verdi
Yes... Several companies have approached us. We were recently offered a public shell and a $100 million dollar equity line by a NY firm to fund our movies going forward, but we want to prove the business model prior to moving forward in the public arena. VCP's approach is much different than a normal production company. First, we are self funded and have lots of great material to work with. This is what attracts the actors and brings them to the table. Then we offer much bigger back end deals to the actors in lieu of huge upfront fees that they are used to. This puts more dollars on the screen and gives everyone a vested interest in making the best movie possible.

With over 25 years of film and business experience, VCP brings a tremendous amount of talent and credibility to the industry, and I think we are well on our way to becoming a go-to production house for independent film.
I have one of the most talented partners in the entertaining industry, in Michael Corrente. Corrente is the acclaimed director/producer responsible for such films as American Buffalo, Outside Providence, A Shot at Glory, Brooklyn Rules, The Door in the Floor and Federal Hill. He knows the ins and outs of the entertainment world better they anyone and he is a huge reason why I got into this business.
We intend to make our mark in the film industry with a team of great talent; without the big budgets.
Bio for Chad A. Verdi:
Mr. Verdi is an Entrepreneur that at the early age of 18 years old Mr. Verdi acquired his first business, a RI television listing newspaper called TV Facts that is still in publication today.
By the age of 21 Verdi acquired several other businesses in the food service sector throughout RI. By age 30, Verdi owned, co-owned or had investments in over a dozen businesses that ranged from food and toy manufacturing to restaurants and hi-tech developments in the biotechnology field.
Over the last 13 years, Mr. Verdi has been involved in over 750 million dollars in business mergers, reverse mergers, start-ups and acquisitions and currently owns, co-owns or has investments in more than two dozen businesses in diversified industries with more than 500 local employees and sales of more than $100 million nationwide. He also holds a large real estate portfolio that includes the 175-year-old former United Methodist Church in East Greenwich where the constitution of RI was adopted.
