WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Aug. 2, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Cyalume Technologies Holdings, Inc. (OTCBB:CYLU) today announced the appointment of Monte L. Pickens as Executive Vice President. Pickens will report directly to President and Chief Executive Officer Derek Dunaway.
Pickens joins Cyalume Technologies from Allied Defense Group, (NYSE Amex:ADG), where he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Allied Defense Group, which has agreed to be acquired by Chemring Group PLC, is a diversified international defense and security firm which develops and produces conventional ammunition, sophisticated electronic and microwave security systems, and battlefield effects simulators.

Pickens brings almost four decades of leadership experience with increasing positions of responsibility in both commercial organizations and the U.S. military. Prior to Allied Defense Group, Pickens served as a Vice President of T. Marzetti Company, a subsidiary of Lancaster Colony, and was Director of Human Resources for Diamond Power Specialty Company, a subsidiary of McDermott Corporation. Pickens served twenty-four years with the U.S. Army, retiring as a Colonel in 1992. During his military career, Pickens served as an infantry and military police officer and interfaced with law enforcement organizations on all levels.
