Sauce Labs Rounds Out Executive Team to Meet Demand for Agile Testing

New Sales Executive Brings Proven Sales Leadership to Company as It Reaches Critical Growth Milestones

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - August 5, 2010) -  Sauce Labs, the Selenium company, today announced the appointment of industry veteran Jason McNally to Vice President of Sales. McNally joins Sauce Labs at a critical time as the company scales to meet increasing demand for its cloud-based cross-browser functional testing service, Sauce OnDemand. On the heels of a Series A financing round at the start of the year, Sauce Labs has accelerated its growth over the last six months, exceeding more than one million tests in the cloud. With a track record in forging partnerships with top brand-name customers, McNally will lead the effort to further expand adoption of Sauce OnDemand as the de facto testing service for next-generation web applications.

Based on Selenium, the popular open source project created by Sauce Labs CTO and co-founder Jason Huggins, Sauce OnDemand enables customers such as Digg, PBWorks and Pivotal Labs to run automated cross-browser functional tests in the cloud without having to maintain or update test infrastructure on-premise. Selenium recently surpassed its three millionth download in June, and is used by virtually every major web and open source company today.

"Sauce Labs is experiencing an exciting growth period as more and more businesses start looking at the cloud as a platform to run automated tests on their most mission-critical web applications," said John Dunham, CEO of Sauce Labs. "In turn, their interest in Sauce OnDemand is also changing how we engage and interact with our customers, by adding to web-based sales a more high touch partnership with Sauce Labs customers. Jason's exceptional leadership and experience in building and scaling sales organizations will be vital to our effort to meet not only the needs of our current customers but also an expansion in customer adoption."

As Vice President of Sales, McNally will oversee all sales for Sauce Labs. He brings 16 years of industry experience at leading companies such as Informix, Commerce One and Semantic Sciences, where excelled as a leader, team player and customer advocate. Most recently, he led East Coast sales for application lifecycle management specialist TechExcel. McNally's appointment follows an aggressive six months of hiring in both the executive and engineering ranks, including the addition of Zack Samocha, formerly of Mercury Interactive, as Vice President of Products and Alliances and Windmill co-creator Adam Christian to the development organization.

"Given its deep roots with the Selenium project, Sauce Labs is in a great position to become the preferred Selenium provider," said McNally. "Now with Sauce OnDemand, Sauce Labs has made Selenium even more accessible as a cloud service to a broader audience. I look forward to working with this talented team to take Sauce Labs to the next level."
