WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., Aug. 16, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Empire Film Group, Inc. (Pink Sheets:EFGU) has confirmed action film star Wesley Snipes for its upcoming feature film "HAVANA HEAT." Following the same formula as the #1 new film release "The Expendables," combining major action stars with fresh talent, Empire Film Group, Tayrona Entertainment Group and Maandi Media Entertainment will begin production on HAVANA HEAT in November of 2010. HAVANA HEAT is an action adventure thriller with beautiful women, spectacular locations, exciting music and explosive stunts under a blue Caribbean sky. The movie tells the story of a Homeland Security agent based in Gitmo who is murdered while undercover in Cuba - a mysterious world that has never been seen like this before on screen.
HAVANA HEAT brings together a powerful international cast of Hollywood and Latin talent that will define a major cross-over production. Cast includes Wesley Snipes ("Blade," "Rising Sun" and "Passenger 57"), Joey Lawrence ("CSI:NY"), Zulay Henao ("Fighting"), Michael Dudikoff ("American Ninja" and "Bachelor Party"), Lorena Rincon ("Six Days Dark"), Heath Herring ("Never Surrender") and Nicholas Brown ("Kites"). Dean Hamilton-Bornstein ("Blonde and Blonder," "Savage Land," "The Road Home") is directing. James Ordonez ("Zorro: The Series," "Reversal of Love," "Silver Cord") and Ken Gord ("Stuck," "Highlander: The Series") produce along with Dan Meachum of Maandi Media Entertainment. Jim Townsend will be executive producing for Empire Film Group. The film will be released in the summer of 2011 by Tayrona Entertainment Group and Empire Film Group.
