Lars Olof Nilsson new Chairman of the Board of Lappland Goldminers AB (publ)

The  Board and the management  of Lappland Goldminers have,  in view of the work
intense  phase for several of the company's  projects, identified a need for the
Board  to take a more active role in the company's development. To achieve this,
the  Board and the management  opinion is that a  working Chairman who can spend
considerable time on this task would be an important part of such strategy.



Considering  the expected  time required  for such  a chairmanship,  the current
Chairman  of  the  Board  Ulf  Ericsson  has  declared  that  due  to  his other
assignments, he does not have the necessary time required as a working Chairman.
Ulf  Ericsson has therefore declared that he  will resign as Chairman and member
of the company's Board.



As  a consequence  hereof, the  Board has  decided to  appoint the current board
member  Lars Olof Nilsson  as new Chairman  of the Board.  Lars Olof Nilsson has
considerable  financial  and  industrial  competence  and  experience  from  the
company's business field (for more information please see the company's web site
and annual report).



-  Lappland Goldminers will  soon face several  exciting challenges and strategy
options  and I look  forward to contributing  to realize the company's potential
together with the Board and the management in the best possible way. At the same
time  and on behalf of the company I  wish to thank Ulf Ericsson for his efforts
