Job Seekers Get Help on Two Fronts

Tips on How to Handle Reduced Income and How to Land a New Job Provided by Community College/Credit Union Partnership

MAPLE GROVE, MN--(Marketwire - September 2, 2010) -  TopLine Federal Credit Union staff joined with North Hennepin Community College to present two recent financial education sessions to the college's Job Support Network Group.

The first session, "Personal Money Management," led by TopLine financial experts, helped attendees better understand how to manage their money with reduced incomes, including how to use credit wisely, how to budget and reduce debt, and important tips about how credit scoring works. The credit union also extended a benefit it offers to its members -- free confidential financial counseling sessions through LSS Financial Counseling Services -- to attendees of the Job Support Network Group.

TopLine human resources staff also participated in a second session, which was a panel discussion highlighting what factors are most considered when hiring, and tips and tactics for finding a job.

"Job loss and transition can be a very emotional and draining process," says Harry Carter, president and CEO of TopLine Federal Credit Union. "And it can happen to anyone. That's why TopLine is working in our community to help see our local jobseekers through -- to financial and career success."
