Comverse Expands BSS Solution at Vietnamobile to Handle Large Growth in Cellular Subscribers

Comverse's Real-Time Billing Supports Vietnamobile's Large Number of Prepaid Subscribers in First Year of Operation

WAKEFIELD, Mass., Sept. 8, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Comverse has expanded its Business Support System (BSS) Solution to meet Vietnamobile's growing prepaid subscriber base. Vietnamobile, a partnership of Hanoi Telecom and Hutchison Telecom, launched its GSM services in April 2009 and has achieved a large growth in prepaid users in Vietnam's growing mobile market.

"Comverse's real-time billing solution has well supported our rapid deployment of attractive prepaid services in the market," said Kashif Jan, Information Technology Director of Vietnamobile.

Comverse's real-time billing solution serves as a real-time marketing engine for mobile operators. It offers advanced personalization capabilities, a la carte service-plan customization, and usage-driven automated marketing promotions that enable operators to increase revenues, profitability and subscriber loyalty. The solution also provides operators with the ability to quickly create and launch service offerings to both broad and targeted market segments while providing self-service options to end users.

"Vietnamobile's expansion of Comverse's BSS Solution after only one year of service is further validation of the ability of our real-time billing platform to meet the business needs of mobile operators in competitive and high-growth markets," said Dror Bin, President of Global Sales at Comverse, the world's leading supplier of software and systems enabling value-added messaging and content services, converged billing and active customer management, and IP communications.

"Our system provides Vietnamobile with the necessary customer acquisition capabilities, operational efficiencies and scalability," Bin said, "to support its ambitious business strategy."
