IRVINE, CA--(Marketwire - September 16, 2010) - Orange County Business Council (OCBC), the leading voice of business in Orange County, has endorsed Tom Tait for Mayor of Anaheim. Tait was previously elected to serve on the Anaheim City Council for two terms and was elected as Mayor Pro-Tem from 2002-2003. While serving on the City Council, Mr. Tait was one of the architects of the Anaheim City Council's freedom-friendly doctrine that opposed eminent domain and tax increases.

"He serves as a solid advocate of the Business Council's key initiatives on infrastructure, housing, education and -- most importantly -- jobs creation in a tough economy."
OCBC applauds Tom's work with the City Council in establishing policies that respect free enterprise and that focus on the fundamental responsibilities of local government: ensuring safe neighborhoods, maintaining good streets and roads, and providing quality public services.
Tom's knowledge of local government and the community is enhanced by his experience in business. Currently, Tom is President of Tait & Associates, Inc., an engineering and environmental consulting firm in Santa Ana, where he leads more than 160 employees in offices throughout the western United States.
He and his family have been long time residents of Anaheim. Mr. Tait has served on the Anaheim Planning Commission, as past Commissioner of the Anaheim Budget Advisory Commission, and as a member of the Anaheim Community Block Grant Foundation.
