CLEAR is Back: Airport CLEARlanes Open Today in Orlando; Denver is Next

NEW YORK, Nov. 9, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- CLEAR (www.CLEARme.com), the first and only biometric-based secure identification program for airport security, opened its CLEARlanes today at Orlando International Airport. Orlando is the launch airport for CLEAR's return. The city was also launch market for the original CLEAR back in 2005.

CLEAR's exclusive, dedicated paths to security screening lanes offer members speed and predictability using biometric identification kiosks. CLEARlanes are easily identified with a large blue CLEARcube and are open from 5am to 9pm daily. Members present their CLEARcard to a uniformed CLEAR attendant, verify their identity with their fingerprints or iris image, and then head through to security screening, by-passing the Travel Document Checker who checks passengers IDs against their boarding passes.

Joining CLEAR is a simple two-step process. First, members enroll online at www.CLEARme.com. The second step is completed in person at a CLEARcube enrollment center where a CLEAR attendant guides the member through a quick scan of their passport and secondary photo ID, fingerprints and iris image. Members' CLEARcards then arrive promptly via mail.

CLEAR has opened an enrollment center at Orlando International Airport at the main terminal East Checkpoint, next to the Hyatt Regency Hotel escalators. Hours of operation are from 5am until 9pm daily.

Two additional enrollment centers are conveniently located at select Stirling Sotheby's International Realty locations: in downtown Orlando, at 121 South Orange Avenue and, starting in mid-November, in Lake Mary at 115 International Parkway, Heathrow. Hours of operation are 9am through 5pm.

CLEAR is relaunching with new owners and management after ceasing operations in 2009. CLEAR is now owned by Alclear LLC. Alclear principles Caryn Seidman-Becker and Kenneth Cornick serve as CLEAR's Chief Executive Officer and President, respectively.

"We're thrilled to bring CLEAR back to Orlando and are excited to launch our lanes in Denver very soon as well," Ms. Seidman-Becker said. "We look forward to working collaboratively with our airport partners to deliver a great CLEAR experience to their travelers."

"Orlando is a market with a high volume of originating passengers so we are pleased to see this positive and popular service program return to our airport," said Phil Brown, Executive Director, Orlando International Airport. "The program is timely and will expedite checkpoint processing, especially as we are entering a peak travel season."

Alclear has committed to former members to honor the remaining terms of their membership, which will commence once CLEAR returns to their home airport or when they use their CLEARcard, whichever comes first.

Membership costs $179 per year for unlimited use. A family plan will be available soon covering a second household member for an additional $50. As an introduction for new members, CLEAR is offering an extra month's membership with each new enrollment.

Also, CLEAR has introduced a friend referral program where CLEARmembers will receive an additional complimentary month's membership for each person who enrolls using their personal promotional code.
