IRVINE, CA--(Marketwire - November 24, 2010) - Orange County Business Council (OCBC) today announced that Eddie Northen, UPS Vice President of Finance -- West Region, was unanimously elected to serve as OCBC's 2011 Chairman of the Board of the Directors. Northen replaces outgoing chair, Linda Martin, of Porter Novelli.
Northen began his career with UPS in 1985 as a part-time employee based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Rising through the ranks over the past 25 years, Northen worked in various locations and divisions within the company and in 2007 accepted his current position of Vice President of Finance -- West Region.

His varied professional accomplishments and commitment to supporting the business community make him an asset to the organization," said Lucy Dunn, OCBC President and CEO. Northen will lead the Council in 2011 with the following newly elected officers: Chair-elect: Julie Miller-Phipps, Kaiser Permanente; Treasurer: Ed Reno, Allergan; Secretary: Lucy Dunn, OCBC; and Immediate Past Chair: Linda Martin, Porter Novelli.
The 2011 Officers and Board of Directors will be sworn in during OCBC's Annual Dinner, held February 3, 2011 at the Hyatt Regency Irvine. The dinner, themed "Turning Red Tape into Red Carpet," will feature a high level keynote speaker and will honor the outgoing Chair Linda Martin of Porter Novelli and her many accomplishments in leadership this year.
