Integral Systems Awarded $5 Million IDIQ Contract to Replace ATM Multiplexers at Major U.S. Military Test Range

Integral Systems' SATCOM Solutions Division to Deliver Its High-Performance ioPLEX Access Gateway Product to the Air Force Flight Test Center at Edwards Air Force Base

CHANTILLY, Va. and COLUMBIA, Md., Nov. 29, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Integral Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:ISYS) announced today that Avtec Systems, Inc., which now operates as part of Integral Systems' SATCOM Solutions Division, has been awarded a $5 million, five-year, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract to replace Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) multiplexers that are no longer sustainable at the U.S. military's largest test ranges. The contract was awarded as part of the Air Force Flight Test Center (AFFTC) Range Data Acquisition Transport System (RDATS) program. Additional contract phases will replace ATM multiplexers at Vandenberg AFB, Point Mugu Air Station and China Lake Naval Weapons Testing Center.

During the contract's first phase, Integral Systems' SATCOM Solutions Division will install approximately 100 high-performance ioPLEX™ Access Gateways to the 412th Test Wing's AFFTC, located at Edwards Air Force Base (AFB), Calif. The ioPLEX Access Gateway is a proven Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) product with an open architecture that easily integrates into the test ranges' existing ATM networks. In addition, the gateway supports both IP and MPLS networks making it the ideal choice as the U.S. military continues its migration to Everything-Over-IP (EOIP).

"Our ioPLEX Access Gateway is the perfect solution for the military as it replaces end-of-life ATM network gear and continues the evolution of Department of Defense (DoD) networks to an IP-based Global Information Grid," said Steve Gizinski, General Manager of Integral Systems SATCOM Solutions Division. "Designed to meet stringent carrier grade requirements, the ioPLEX Access Gateway gives test range personnel at Edwards AFB a compact, power-efficient and modular design based on high reliability hardware and software. ioPLEX supports a wide range of standards-based interfaces including analog, voice, video and telemetry services. These features enable easy integration into communications, range and space-lift networks."

Integral Systems' SATCOM Solutions Division ioPLEX Access Gateway is an affordable, high-performance access gateway, offering support for more data types, higher aggregate throughput and better operational reliability than other multiplexers on the market today. The innovative gateway is designed to move up to two gigabits per second of data across the network, while introducing less than a millisecond of added latency into multiplexed streams. Featuring Assured Delivery™, in which diverse-path routing, intelligent reconstruction and other technologies are employed to guarantee data delivery, ioPLEX is ideal for applications where data loss during network transit is simply unacceptable.

Earlier this year, Integral Systems acquired CVG, Inc. and Avtec Systems, Inc., which now operate as Integral Systems SATCOM Solutions Division. For additional information on Integral Systems SATCOM Solutions Division and its high-speed data communications solutions, please visit www.integ.com.
