Finnair will manage to increase flights during coming days of strike


During the coming days of the strike, Finnair will be able to carry more than
40% of its passengers. Tomorrow, the company will operate nearly 35% of its
flights. A gradual increase in traffic is possible, because more cabin staff
are reporting for work all the time. 

- The situation for our customers is still regrettable and we are sorry for all
the difficulties caused by the strike. I would also like to thank customers for
their patience. We will continually do our best to take as good care of them as
possible, says Finnair's Senior Vice President Customer Service Anssi
Komulainen. 

Customers whose flight is on 6 December or before can change their booking to
any date up to the end of March or ask for a refund on their ticket. Finnair
will also try as far as possible to reroute passengers of cancelled flights. In
reroutings, passengers returning home will be prioritised. In the case of
cancellations or changes, customers should contact the party that sold them
their ticket. 

Despite the strike, every effort will be made to operate Finnair's leisure
flights normally, partly with external capacity. 

From Friday 3 December Finnair will fly to Milan, Rome, Hamburg and Amsterdam.
Of scheduled flight destinations, Finnair is currently already flying to Oulu,
Kuopio, Vaasa, Joensuu, Rovaniemi, Kajaani, Kuusamo, Stockholm, Gothenburg,
Copenhagen, Düsseldorf, London, Paris and Brussels. There is also a service to
Ivalo and Kittilä from Thursday to Sunday. Of long-haul flights, a daily
service to Bangkok is being operated during the strike. The timetables of all
flights and the number of flights to destinations may deviate from normal, and
changes are possible. 

More detailed information about flights as well as instructions to customers
will be updated continually at the address www.finnair.fi/info. When flights
are cancelled, a personal text message will be sent to the passengers of these
flights. For this, it is important that the correct telephone number is
included in flight bookings. Passengers can check this by following the
