ST. LOUIS, MO--(Marketwire - December 7, 2010) - 4G super fast mobile internet provider CLEAR has teamed up with St. Louis-based StudyX software developer Jeff Computers to offer a free copy of StudyX with every CLEAR4G mobile Internet service activation at college bookstores where StudyX is sold. Participating campuses initially include St. Louis Community Colleges (STLCC) and Maryville University. The new partnership leverages Jeff Computers' relationships with these campuses to reach college students.
After seeing someone using StudyX, CLEAR contacted the developer, St. Louis native Jeff Minnis, owner of Jeff Computers in Manchester, MO. Jeff Computers became an authorized dealer of the CLEAR4G service, which launched in summer 2010 in St. Louis, and the two companies developed the promotion to college students through Minnis' relationships with local college bookstores. The promotion is up and running at the STLCC Meramac campus and Maryville University.
Students who activate any CLEAR Internet plan, which start at $45 for unlimited mobile and $55 for bundled services, will receive a free copy (normally $39.99) of StudyX study software. Students purchase StudyX, follow the instructions inside the package to activate CLEAR, and then Jeff Computers will credit them $39.99 on their CLEAR account. Or, they may call Jeff Computers at (636) 256-7901 to activate over the phone. St. Louis is the test market and the companies will consider expanding the promotion into other markets later.
StudyX makes studying less tedious. People of all ages can learn facts faster and have more fun learning using the computer. Users include elementary to graduate students, plus professionals who want help learning facts.
Unlike a simple flash card program, StudyX offers versatile study options including six study games, practice tests, autopilot studying and digital or paper flash cards. Users enter their material, or StudyX already includes some material in history, math, science, social studies and 1000 vocabulary words each in 48 languages, which is useful for both English-speakers, and those learning English as a second language (ESL). StudyX works on Windows XP/Vista/7 and newer.
Jeff Minnis began developing StudyX as a computer science major at Webster University. Diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome, a learning disability similar to autism, Minnis found it difficult to focus, read and write. Using a computer, however, he could focus and learn. Minnis envisioned a personal study program with games to make studying less boring. He developed StudyX and adapted it to appeal to anyone who enjoys using the computer to learn.
StudyX is free to try (30-day trial) or $39.99 to buy from www.studyx.com, CNET Download.com, Tucows.com, Brothersoft.com, Amazon.com and Jeff Computers.
