Sigma Systems Completes Successful 2010 With International Expansion and Industry Recognition

Leading OSS Provider Sees Accelerated Growth in Latin America, Europe and Japan and Receives Honors for Technology and Service Transformation

TORONTO--(Marketwire - December 15, 2010) -  Sigma Systems, an industry leader in Advanced IP Service Fulfillment solutions, announced today the conclusion of a successful 2010 as the company closed its eighth year of profitability, despite the challenging business environment, with a series of new customer acquisitions, contract renewals, industry honors and an exceptional user conference, EVOLVE 2010.

"Continuing to strengthen our international customer base and sales & support teams was a key objective for 2010 and one that we successfully executed," said Tim Spencer, president and COO for Sigma Systems. "Our global market share growth, especially in Europe, Japan and the Caribbean and Latin America regions, is another strong validation of how our next-generation OSS solutions give telecom and cable service providers the ability to rapidly implement bundled services over a variety of network technologies. As we enter into 2011, Sigma Systems will continue to focus on assisting our customers around the globe with service transformation projects, which will enable them to introduce new, innovative services and manage the transition to and deliver the multi-screen video experience."

Latin America and Europe Lead International Expansion Efforts

In 2010, Sigma Systems continued its expansion into international markets with eight new customer wins and the addition of new sales offices in Europe, Brazil and Japan. The Caribbean and Latin America and European regions showed the most accelerated growth, as next-generation operators in the regions are seeking to create triple-play service bundles while rolling out new offerings and infrastructures, such as VoIP, advanced video and fiber. Notable Sigma Systems customer wins in 2010 included NET Serviços in Brazil, along with Amnet and Cable Color. In the Caribbean, Sigma Systems also announced Columbus Communications would be using its Service Management Platform across the Columbus operations in Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica, Grenada and Curaçao.

With the expansion of services offerings in Europe from double-play to quad-play bundles well underway, Sigma Systems also announced new licensing deals with Portugal's Cabovisao, Poland's Vectra and completed implementing a service transformation project with previously announced triple-play service provider, YouSee, in Denmark.

Innovative Products and Customers Recognized by Industry Leaders

Sigma Systems' success in Europe was highlighted in 2010 with the Global Telecoms Business Award for National Infrastructure, along with its customer ZON Multimedia of Portugal. Using its Service Management Platform and expertise in service transformation, Sigma Systems enabled ZON to roll out quad-play service bundles and eliminate service silos. In addition, ZON has been able to quickly layer on new services in addition to triple-play cable, DSL and satellite onto the Sigma Systems platform, with 2010 deployments of FTTH and a MVNO-based mobile offerings.

Along with honors for its Service Management Platform, Sigma Systems' Active Mediation Platform -- or AMP -- was named to FierceCable's inaugural Fierce 15 list in October. The Active Mediation Platform has allowed next-generation operators to collect and process terabytes of real-time Internet protocol detail records (IPDRs). IPDR reporting can be used to create usage-based business models for new service provider revenue streams.

Additionally, Sigma Systems was twice named a finalist for industry awards, including the IPTV World Series Awards for its advanced advertising solutions, called the Subscriber Information Service, and for the World Vendor Awards for its Service Management Platform in the category of Best Support System.

EVOLVE 2010 Continues to Grow and Strengthen Customer Relationships

In November, Sigma Systems hosted its third-annual user conference for telecom and cable service providers, EVOLVE 2010, in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Customers and prospects from around the world shared best practices for next-gen OSS and service fulfillment throughout the two-day event. On November 16, Spencer, along with author and Forrester Research VP Ted Schadler, kicked off the conference with keynote addresses, which focused on "Delivering What's Next" for next-generation operators. A host of panel discussions and product demonstrations showcased the multi-screen video experience, enabling service innovation, FTTH deployment best practices and operator case studies.
