OREM, UT--(Marketwire - January 25, 2011) - As part of the company's ongoing effort to give back to its worldwide community and provide people around the globe with the benefits of xylitol, Xlear, Inc. donated more than $170,000 in products and cash donations throughout 2010. The largest donation, consisting of more than 31,000 4oz. tubes of Spry Cool Mint toothpaste, was presented to the people of Haiti following the devastating earthquake in January 2010. All of Xlear's products include the natural sweetener, xylitol, which has proven to provide a number of health benefits.
In addition to donating goods to Haiti, Xlear charitable efforts included donations to the Utah Food Bank and the Now I Can Foundation, which provides physical therapy to disabled children and adults. Xlear also worked with Intel to distribute several hundred bottles of Xlear Nasal Spray to troops serving in the Middle East and Afghanistan.
"For Xlear, 2010 was another banner year as we continued to extend our business opportunities around the world," said Blaine Yates, CEO of Xlear. "From the early days of our company, we have always tried to give back to our local community, and this past year, we had the opportunity to do even more, working with a number of new organizations, including Now I Can, WorldVision and Intel, to share the benefits of xylitol with those in need and to simply say thank you. Whether it is helping dental hygiene students with a class project, giving to a local food bank, or a large scale relief effort, we recognize that we can help, even if it is a small way."
