CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - February 3, 2011) - The Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance is pleased to announce that "FLEUROTICA" will return to the Garfield Park Conservatory on Friday, March 25 with a dazzling array of awe-inspiring fashion designs created by some of Chicagoland's most talented floral designers, made entirely of plants, flowers and leaves. In addition to a seat at the runway show, guests will also experience the lush surroundings of the Garfield Park Conservatory while enjoying a live-auction with items donated by sponsors, cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and a post-fashion show meet and greet with the floral designers and their designs. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the runway show starting at 7:30 p.m. FOX Chicago News at Noon (WFLD-TV) Co-Anchor, Jan Jeffcoat will be the host for the runway show. Located at 300 N. Central Park Ave. on the West Side of Chicago just steps away from the Conservatory-Central Park Drive Station on the CTA Green Line, the Garfield Park Conservatory is owned by the Chicago Park District and operated in partnership with Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance, which is a non-profit, donor supported organization that helps Chicagoans and area residents connect with nature. The Garfield Park Conservatory is one of the largest and most stunning conservatories in the U.S. and is often referred to as "landscape art under glass." The Garfield Park Conservatory occupies approximately 14 acres, with eight indoor display houses under glass on two acres and three outdoor gardens on 9.5 acres. The Conservatory also features nearly 1,500 plant species, a 3,000 square foot outdoor labyrinth in the classical style and eight water features including a lagoon and prairie waterfall.
