BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - February 3, 2011) - BNP Paribas Investment Partners (BNPP IP) is delighted to announce the appointment of Alicia Frank as a senior portfolio manager, global emerging markets equities. The addition of Ms. Frank to the team marks BNPP IP's continued commitment to growing and resourcing this significant asset class.
Ms. Frank has over 15 years of experience working in emerging markets and will complement an already experienced team. Before joining BNP Paribas Investment Partners, Ms. Frank spent five years at Fidelity working as a portfolio manager and analyst with a team responsible for over USD 6 billion in global emerging equity assets. She also co-managed Fidelity's asset allocation and lifecycle funds. Prior to Fidelity, she worked at Baring Asset Management, Barclays Capital and Merrill Lynch, where she developed a deep specialisation in emerging markets. Ms. Frank has a MA in Economics from Brandeis University and is a CFA charter-holder.
Ms. Frank will be based in Boston and will report to Gabriel Wallach, CIO global emerging markets equities. Mr. Wallach said, "We are excited to hire someone of Ms. Frank's calibre and tenure in emerging markets equities. Having worked with Ms. Frank in the past, I am certain her experience will be hugely accretive to the team right from the start." BNPP IP's global emerging markets equities team in Boston manages USD 3 billion* in a growth-biased strategy, favouring companies whose earnings are growing faster than those of their industry peers.
