SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - February 8, 2011) - In an age of real-time collaboration and instant expectations, impactful collaboration can mean the difference between success and failure. However, as the workforce becomes increasingly dispersed, businesses are faced with the task of successfully collaborating and leveraging the best talent within an organization to perform specialized tasks. As a result of this new landscape, Microsoft® SharePoint® has become a key platform for companies to effectively collaborate across geographical boundaries and advance enterprise social computing.
Tim Smith, service line executive for information management at Avanade, a business technology services provider, will be speaking at this year's SharePoint Technology Conference about how companies can leverage SharePoint to apply the principles of social computing to the enterprise by tapping into a company's most valuable asset of information -- its people.
When: Wednesday, Feb. 9, at 4:00 - 5:15 p.m. PT
Where: 2011 SharePoint Technology Conference, Hyatt Regency Airport, San Francisco, Calif.
What: The session will outline a simple methodology for companies seeking to take advantage of experts within the company, regardless of location, to solve business problems, collaborate on projects and enable greater productivity. Attendees will be provided with an in-depth look at how different technologies, such as Avanade's Expert Source™ solution based on SharePoint 2010, can best leverage social computing capabilities to create a collaborative environment, while reducing deployment risks through identifying, managing and engaging the most qualified specialists for critical initiatives.
