MILAN, ITALY--(Marketwire - March 7, 2011) - Information Builders, an independent leader in business intelligence (BI) solutions, today announced the opening of its first subsidiary in Italy. As part of Information Builders' continued international growth strategy, the subsidiary will establish the company as one of the main players in the Italian BI market.
Information Builders has been active in Italy for more than 20 years, working with various local partners to help sell and support its technology. By opening the new office, the company is strengthening its position and setting the stage for further growth and expansion. Information Builders will boost relationships and enhance innovation with current clients, increase its presence in new industry sectors, develop a new range of consultancy and professional services, add to its existing network of partners, and extend geographical coverage on a nationwide scale.
José Mª García-Soto will oversee the subsidiary as general manager and vice president of Information Builders Italy and will work closely on expansion efforts with Mauro Grassi, business development manager for the subsidiary. Information Builders Italy has already signed some initial agreements with companies, such as Avrion, GDS, and Grupo Ferlini, and expects to add new customers throughout the year. The company is also working to develop a corporate agreement with Italian multinational Tagetik to undertake strategic joint products in the corporate performance management (CPM) area.
