RESTON, VA--(Marketwire - March 16, 2011) - Daon announced today that it has been awarded a subcontract by CACI International Inc to support the U.S. Military Entrance Processing Command (USMEPCOM) as part of CACI's contract to develop the Virtual Interactive Processing System (VIPS).
The 3.5-year contract is part of USMEPCOM's efforts to streamline its accession process for military applicants. VIPS is a paper-free system that will modernize and automate the infrastructure that is used to qualify, evaluate and process applicants for the uniformed services, Coast Guard and National Guard. Daon will aid CACI and USMEPCOM by providing identity assurance software, a critical piece of the VIPS infrastructure.
The deal was announced today during a business luncheon in Washington, DC to mark Ireland's strong commercial links with the U.S. Daon was founded in Dublin, Ireland. Today, it is an international firm doing business on all continents. The luncheon featured Ireland's new Prime Minister, Enda Kenny. It was organized by Enterprise Ireland, the government agency responsible for the development and growth of Irish enterprises in world markets.
