NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Apr 20, 2011) - 5min Media, the Web's largest video syndication platform, today announced a video syndication partnership with Sugar Inc. to distribute original programming across the 5min Media network of hundreds of partner sites, targeting a female audience with celebrity news, fashion, beauty and lifestyle content.
Through this partnership, Sugar Inc., which owns sites that receive more than 20M unique visits and produces over 125 original videos every month*, will be able to build an even broader audience by syndicating its award-winning video content for women across 5min Media's network of sites. Much of Sugar's library of over 2,000 original videos from its FabSugarTV, PopSugarRush, BellaSugarTV and PopSugarLivingTV channels will be live on 5min Media's website, adding to 5min Media's already vast library -- which includes premium video content relevant to female viewers from major media companies such as The Style Network and Hachette (ELLE, Woman's Day).
"Lifestyle content continues to be one of the leading categories on our network, which is why we jumped at the chance to partner with a company like Sugar Inc.," said Ran Harnevo, co-founder and CEO of 5min Media and Senior Vice President of AOL Video. "Women are increasingly turning to online videos for savvy advice, expert tips and celebrity know-how and this partnership will enable a wider audience to discover Sugar's high quality programming, while enabling marketers to tap into a highly targeted, desirable and engaged audience."
"We're always looking for ways to grow our vibrant community of trendsetting 18-40 year-old women viewers, and partnering with 5min Media provides us with a big platform to do exactly that," said David Grant, President of Sugar Studios & TV. "We want our video content to be highly accessible to women across the web, and content syndication is a key part of the mix along with our own PopSugar Network of sites."
5min Media is a leading online video property with more than 27 million unique viewers each month and is ranked No. 1 in seven vertical categories, including Home, Food, Health, Fashion/Beauty, Travel and Auto, according to comScore Video Metrix (December 2010).
