DENVER, May 2, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Transamerica today introduced six new investment options to its variable annuity platform. With the new additions, Transamerica has increased the number of quality and compelling portfolios eligible for use as designated options with Transamerica's flagship Retirement Income Choice® 1.2 rider.
"We are strategically including new investment options and maintaining our rider features as investors seek additional solutions for their retirement needs," said Dave Paulsen, Chief Sales Officer at Transamerica Capital Management. "We remain committed to providing powerful investment options and helpful variable annuity strategies. The addition of these subaccounts means financial professionals have even greater flexibility in the allocation process, allowing clients to take advantage of opportunities available with our living benefit riders."
Four new "dynamic" funds address this need by offering tactically managed funds designed to outperform comparable static (composite) benchmarks, reduce downside capture while maintaining a high upside capture, and keeping fund expenses competitive.
The four funds are:
- Transamerica AEGON Active Asset Allocation – Moderate Growth VP – Service Class
- Transamerica AEGON Active Asset Allocation – Moderate VP – Service Class
- Transamerica AEGON Active Asset Allocation – Conservative VP – Service Class
- Transamerica JPMorgan Tactical Allocation VP – Service Class
Two new bond fund investment options bolster the C Group Designated Investment Options available in the Retirement Income Choice® 1.2 rider. The two funds are:
- Transamerica PIMCO Real Return TIPS VP – Service Class
- Transamerica JPMorgan Core Bond VP – Service Class
While the new investment options provide additional diversification, the core benefits of the Retirement Income Choice® 1.2 rider remain intact.
