EAST GREENWICH, RI and NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - May 12, 2011) - Film Production Company Verdi Productions Inc. is pleased to announce that it has completed the feature film, Loosies.
Loosies stars Peter Facinelli (Twilight, New Moon, The Scorpion King), Jaimie Alexander (Thor, The Other Side), Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill: Vol. 1, Kill Bill: Vol.2, Infected), Vincent Gallo (Buffalo '66, The Brown Bunny, Tetro, Loosies), Joe Pantoliano (Memento, The Matrix, The Fugitive, Loosies), William Forsythe (The Rock, Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, Raising Arizona, Inkubus, Infected), Christy Carlson Romano (Even Stevens, Mirrors 2, Infected), and Sera Verdi (Loosies, Inkubus, Infected).
The story-line is about a young pickpocket in the New York subways living a fast, free lifestyle, confronted by a woman he had a one night affair with. She informs him that she is pregnant with his child and that he must now choose between continuing the lifestyle he leads, or take responsibility for his actions.
Chad A. Verdi, the company's CEO and Producer of the film, said," Timing could not be better for us. Jaimie's latest film Thor, in which she plays the character Sif, is currently number one this week at the box office, with worldwide sales of over $250 million." Verdi added, "Both Peter and Jaimie delivered stellar performances and director Michael Corrente's work was brilliant, his best work ever."
The company also signed American Idol star (www.Americanidol.com) Paul McDonald for the film's musical soundtrack.
Mr. Verdi and his team, which includes his wife Michelle Verdi, head of music and talent, Noah Kraft, COO, Gino Pereira, CFO and Robert Tarini, Financial Consultant, are at the Cannes Film Festival this week. The team will oversee the sales and screenings of Verdi Productions' subsidiary company, The Woodhaven Production Company's two feature films, Inkubus and Infected.
Inkubus tells the story of a skeleton crew working the final shift at a soon-to-be demolished police station. The night takes a gruesome turn when the demon, Inkubus (Robert Englund), calmly walks into the station holding the severed head of a murdered girl.
Inkubus toys with the crew, allowing himself to be restrained, and begins to proudly confess to his litany of crimes, some dating back to the Middle Ages. Why? Inkubus has a score to settle with the one detective (William Forsythe) that almost put him away some thirteen years ago. To their dismay, the cops quickly become pawns in Inkubus' brutal crowning achievement of murder, gore, and mayhem. They ultimately realize it's his world; they only die in it.
Woodhaven's second feature, 'Infected,' is now in the midst of post-production, and is expected to be completed by July 2011. Infected, which stars Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill), Christy Carlson Romano (Mirrors 2, Even Stevens), and William Forsythe (Halloween, The Devil's Rejects), follows a father and son who have to fight to survive against a deadly virus spreading in the woods. Woodhaven is already in talks to premiere Inkubus and Infected in October at the Showcase Cinema in Warwick, Rhode Island with a limited release in the Northeast to follow shortly thereafter.
