VMTurbo Introduces Cost Savings Calculation in May Appliance Upgrade

VALHALLA, NY--(Marketwire - May 18, 2011) - VMTurbo, provider of software to analyze, optimize and control the virtualized data center, today announced the availability of its May appliance, which includes amongst other features a monetary evaluation tool within its VMTurbo Virtualization Management Suite. VMTurbo is unique in its ability to identify performance issues and provide clear and unambiguous direction to resolve them.

For a better understanding of the variable monetary values of the virtual environment, VMTurbo has added a financial calculation to the Planner's simulation capabilities so that side-by-side "what if" scenarios can be compared. Whether merging clusters or evaluating the relative performance of different hardware solutions, users see the various scenarios graphically displayed and can easily evaluate the savings of each option. VMTurbo also quantifies a savings associated with changes to a virtual machine in order to better direct the decision making process.

• New time selectors enable data retrieval and display for any discrete time, up to the retention limits, and enhance the ability to mine the Monitor for actionable information including trending.
• Enhanced storage reports make it easier to identify issues such as wasted files.
• Increased personalization allows interfaces to be customized across physical hosts, virtual machines and datastores so that users can narrow down a scope of interest and better identify problems and apply resolutions in growing virtual environments.
• Percentage and quantity displays for utilization and capacity are provided wherever possible to assess the true impact of information for remaining resources.
• Improved visualization of both the details of a VM specific problem, as well as those of the supporting infrastructure when inspecting the performance metrics of a VM/application is provided.
• The ability to create detailed accounts of host capacity by cluster helps automate the day-to-day tasks of administering a virtualized environment.
