Dean Evans & Associates, Inc. Races Its Way to Charitable Donations

DENVER, CO--(Marketwire - Jun 7, 2011) - Dean Evans & Associates, Inc. announced today donations to the American Cancer Society, Hospice of Saint John and the Children's Hospital Foundation, in conjunction with its participation in the Kaiser Permanente Colfax Marathon Corporate Cup Relay. The company fielded five five-person teams made up of employees and immediate family members.

The company's Corporate Women's and Men's teams placed third in their divisions. Each of the teams' placements resulted in the race organizers title sponsor, Kaiser Permanente, donating $1,000 on behalf of Dean Evans & Associates, Inc. to each of the company's chosen local charities, Hospice of Saint John and the American Cancer Society. A third donation of $2,500 to the Children's Hospital Foundation was made on the company's behalf to recognize them as having the second highest number of teams to participate in the relay; bringing the total amount of charitable donations to $4,500.

"Participating in this race was sure to provide one benefit: the fun and camaraderie that comes from training, planning, and preparing for a team event like this," said Rebecca VanHousen, the company's controller, who coordinated the event. "The Corporate Cup Relay was to benefit selected charities, but we hadn't given much thought to our odds of being top finishers. The fact that our teams' times and our total number of participants allowed us to help three organizations, whose work we support and is instrumental to the community, was something we never even considered. We're thrilled!"
