McCain Supports ARRA Funded Sahara Bus Rapid Transit Project

The contract involves deployment of 33 McCain NEMA traffic cabinets along 12 miles of Sahara Avenue, a major east-west corridor running through the heart of Las Vegas.

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) was awarded $34.4 million in TIGER grants for their Sahara Bus Rapid Transit Project from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). The funding was gained due to the project's innovational elements that will help reduce traffic congestion, increase safety, create more than 500 jobs, stimulate the local economy, and reduce harmful emissions. McCain's NEMA cabinets will support project goals through the products' modern, state-of-the-art approach to traffic control, helping minimize traffic incidents and reducing harmful vehicular emissions.
