NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., June 30, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Christmas Company, the largest annual fundraiser for the Junior League of Orange County, CA, Inc. (JLOCC), will take place November 17-20, 2011, according to Event Chair Julie Asher. The Christmas Company, now celebrating its 36th year, offers the opportunity to kick-start holiday planning by bringing together more than 90 unique vendors from Orange County and across the United States. "Chairing The Christmas Company is the experience of a lifetime," says Asher, who served as the event's chair-elect last year. She is finding the time for this important charitable involvement while continuing her employment at The Capital Group Companies offices in West Los Angeles.

In addition to a focus on shopping, The Christmas Company will feature a variety of events.  A Preferred Shopping Breakfast will launch the festivities on Thursday, November 17. The Opening Night Gala that evening will feature small plate dining, entertainment, and a silent auction; sponsor Gallo Family Vineyards will provide a variety of libations. On Saturday morning, Santa will listen to Christmas wishes at a PJs & Pancakes Breakfast for families.  Mother-daughter tea parties featuring the "Fancy Nancy" children's books author Jane O'Connor and illustrator Robin Preiss Glasser are in the planning stages for Sunday, November 20.

General admission to The Christmas Company is $10 per person, which includes entrance to the shopping extravaganza.  General admission tickets good for multi-day entry will be available at the door and online at www.jlocc.org starting on September 15. Tickets for the special events and the Opening Night Gala will also be available for purchase online or by calling (949) 263-3785 through November 11.
