BANFF, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - July 13, 2011) - Sunshine Village Ski & Snowboard resort has donated its used fire gear to a charitable organization that distributes it to underequipped fire departments in Central and South America.
"Instead of it just being (discarded), it's going to a good home," said Al Matheson, Sunshine's Mountain Operations manager, who oversees the resort's ski patrol and other members of the volunteer fire crew who are responsible for the safety culture at the resort.
"Sunshine is always looking for new ways to give back," said John Scurfield, Vice-President of Sunshine Village which operates in the Canadian Rockies of Banff National Park.
