BOISE, Idaho, Aug. 9, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Idaho-based Syringa Networks today announced an expansion project that will bring high-speed fiber optic network services to five more Idaho communities. The expansion route will include the communities of Bliss, Gooding, Shoshone, Dietrich, and Wendell, Idaho. The multi-million dollar project has been awarded and construction has begun, with completion planned for summer 2012.
The new network expansion will consist of 70 miles of high-count fiber installed underground and connected to the company's existing 400 gigabit (Gb) backbone network. This expansion will enable schools, healthcare facilities, and businesses with the services and performance they need to compete in today's economy. By providing these communities with high-speed broadband services and access to the most extensive MPLS network in the state, Syringa Networks continues its commitment to promoting economic viability in underserved areas.
"While other providers talk about investing in the state at large, they tend to focus their dollars on major population centers. We have been very specific with our dollars and our commitment to the rural communities," said Greg Lowe, President and CEO of Syringa Networks.
Lowe added, "A community that has high-speed fiber optic services is able to retain local businesses while attracting new businesses and jobs to the area."
In addition to its rural expansions, Syringa Networks recently announced other projects throughout the region, including Pocatello, Idaho Falls, Boise, Caldwell, Blaine County, and Northern Utah. Businesses interested in benefiting from these new services should contact Syringa Networks today to take advantage of the project timelines.
Syringa Networks was founded in 2002 by 12 rural telecommunications companies, committed to bringing state-of-the art technology to underserved communities.
