Joint Commission Resources: Making a Difference -- Ambulatory Care Accreditation Conference Set for Oct. 4-5

OAK BROOK, IL--(Marketwire - Aug 29, 2011) - Ambulatory care health care leaders will gather in Chicago October 4-5, 2011, for The Joint Commission's 16^th Annual Ambulatory Care Conference. The conference, to be held at the Marriott Chicago Downtown hotel, will focus on discovering strategies to demonstrate quality of care to payers, regulatory agencies, and managed care organizations. The program is sponsored by Joint Commission Resources (JCR), a not-for-profit affiliate of The Joint Commission.

"Making a Difference -- Ambulatory Care Accreditation" will provide hands-on education from Joint Commission experts. They will provide insight to standards, the survey process, ideas for continuous patient safety efforts, and solutions for successfully maintaining compliance. The conference will feature expert presentations from several organizations, including the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and will focus on electronic health records, telemedicine and infection control for the ambulatory care setting.

A pre-conference seminar on October 3, 2011, will spotlight The Joint Commission's new option for ambulatory care organizations -- designation as a Primary Care Medical Home (PCMH). This session will offer information about the survey process and other related activities associated with achieving the PCMH designation.
