NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Sept. 7, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In addition to bringing together more than 90 unique vendors from Orange County and across the United States, The Christmas Company, the largest annual fundraiser for the Junior League of Orange County, CA, Inc. (JLOCC), will feature a variety of fun-filled events.
The four-day shopping extravaganza will be held November 17-20, 2011, at the OC Fair & Events Center, which is located at Fair Drive and the 55 Freeway in Costa Mesa. General admission tickets good for multi-day entry for shopping at The Christmas Company are $10 per person and will be available at the door and online at www.jlocc.org starting on September 15. Tickets for the special events will also be available for purchase online or by calling (949) 263-3785 September 15 through November 11.
Here's the line-up of this year's entertaining activities:
Thursday, November 17: Preferred Shopping, 11:00 am – 3:00 pm, $35
The early bird gets the mimosa during Preferred Shopping where attendees enjoy V.I.P. treatment and a first look at the exhibitors' goodies. Champagne provided by Gallo Family Vineyards and a savory breakfast will be served at this STROLLER-FREE shopping event!
Friday, November 18: The No Om Zone, 9:30 am – 11:00 am, $45 pp
Special guest and founder of YAS Fitness Centers, Kimberly Fowler, a tri-athlete, attorney and author of "The No Om Zone" published by Rodale, will share how yoga helped her recovery from brain cancer and sports-related injuries. She will also discuss her launch into small business ownership through her innovative and fresh approach to yoga. At the event, Kimberly will instruct a yoga class integrating movement, strength, and breath work to help attendees excel, no matter what their level of experience.
Friday, November 18: Girl's Night Out, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm, $45 pp
At ladies' night, attendees will enjoy libations sponsored by Gallo Family Vineyards, exclusive shopping, and even a little pampering. Attendees will also receive a fabulous gift bag full of treats to enjoy!
Saturday, November 19: PJs & Pancakes, 10:00 am – 11:30 am, $15 pp Adult/$25 pp Child
Fluffy pancakes, arts and crafts, and time with Santa are part of this fun-filled event.
Saturday, November 19: Cooking Demo and Book Signing, 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm, $35 pp
Zov Karamardian, owner of Zov's Bistro and three other namesake restaurants, will demonstrate the preparation of delectable dishes from her latest book "Simply Zov." Samples will be served with wine pairings by Gallo Family Vineyards.
Sunday, November 20: Fancy Nancy Tea Party, 11:00 am-12:30 pm AND 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm, $28 pp Adult/$39 pp Child
An exquisite English tea party, complete with delicious sweet treats, will set the tone as author Jane O'Connor and illustrator Robin Preiss Glasser read their latest book in the Fancy Nancy series. The frilliest tutus and shiniest tiaras are suggested attire at this posh party for moms and children age three and up. Young guests will take home a Special Edition Fancy Nancy book and other treats that will surely be splendiferous! These events hosted by A Whale of a Tale Children's Bookshoppe always sell out.
The funds that are raised annually by the JLOCC directly impact the community through collaborative projects with partner organizations and support JLOCC's mission of promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community. This year's projects include the Second Harvest Food Bank Backpack Program, Crittenton Services Connect Program, Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) Reading Program, Olive Crest Kinship Support Services Program, and the League's Bear Hugs and Bear Necessities Program, which partners with the Orangewood Children's Foundation. The JLOCC members also conduct done-in-a-day volunteer projects through the JLOCC's Impact Orange County Committee.
