Solution Provides Enhanced Functionality to Small and Mid-Sized Businesses Utilizing QuickBooks(R)


MOUNT LAUREL, N.J., Sept. 12, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- OKI Data Americas today announced the release of Desktop Capture for QuickBooks® solution to be used in conjunction with the full line of OKI Multifunction Printers. Designed with small and mid-size businesses in mind, the combination streamlines scanning processes and allows for seamless editing and routing into QuickBooks® Attached Documents.

Desktop Capture for QuickBooks® is the first solution of its kind, specifically designed to allow QuickBooks® users the ability to seamlessly transfer and attach physical documents to electronic accounting information. This is also the latest installment of desktop capture solutions developed by OKI Data Americas, which has recently developed and released solutions for document management programs including Microsoft® Office SharePoint® and Docuware.

OKI multifunction printers come standard with PaperPort® 11 SE from Nuance® - the award-winning document management software that allows users to easily scan, organize and share documents. The OKI Desktop Capture for QuickBooks® solution provides a connector specifically developed to upload scanned documents into the cloud-based services of QuickBooks® Attached Documents. This solution provides QuickBooks® users with single-click access to electronic copies of scanned hardcopy documents from within the QuickBooks® application, enhancing their workplace efficiencies and streamlining processes.

PaperPort® allows users to make a variety of improvements to their scanned documents including optical character recognition (OCR), de-speckling, straightening, cropping, rotating and enhancing. This software also features a unique "split desktop" design that displays thumbnail views of individual pages alongside full document thumbnails, enabling simple document assembly.

Through this solution, users can drag and drop scanned documents into the QuickBooks® connector to upload them to QuickBooks® Attached Documents. Files can then be tagged and directly attached to any QuickBooks® list item during this process, saving users time by eliminating numerous steps associated with alternative practices. The QuickBooks® Attached Documents program allows users to store any attached items online through the QuickBooks® Online Document Center, ensuring remote access to key documents.
