Boys & Girls Club Fundraiser Helps Everyone Win

$1 Million Raffle Can Make Dreams Come True


OXNARD, Calif., Sept. 29, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- With nonprofit donations down due to the economy, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard andPort Hueneme decided to take a different approach to fundraising. The 2011 Boys & Girls Club Million Dollar Raffle gives ticket buyers a chance to win a grand prize of $1 million and ticket proceeds help the Club provide vital enrichment, social and academic services to its more than 7,500 needy youth in the community.

"The raffle is really a win-win. Ticket buyers can become millionaires overnight, and the Club gets needed funding to support its excellent programs. Several studies show the Boys & Girls Clubs help kids do better in school. At our Club, 96 percent graduate high school," says Don Facciano, board member and 2011 Boys & Girls Club Million Dollar Raffle chair. "So supporting the Club through the raffle is a good decision all the way around."

The grand prize drawing is scheduled for Dec. 30, with early bird prize drawings set for Oct. 28 and Nov. 30. There will also be a multi-ticket drawing for adults who've purchased more than one ticket. Multi-ticket prizes include a 2012 Corvette (or $30,000 cash), Harley-Davidson motorcycle orParisvacation. All early bird and multi-ticket drawing winners are still eligible to win the grand prize of $1 million.

Million Dollar Raffle tickets are $150, and only 18,000 tickets will be sold. There will be 205 prizes during the raffle, giving ticket buyers a 1 in 85 chance of winning.
