Thrane & Thrane Prepares for FANS and CPDLC Operations with Level D Version of AVIATOR 700
Thrane & Thrane announces plans today (Monday 10th October 2011) to introduce a new software and hardware version of its cutting-edge AVIATOR 700, which will make the solution ready for full CNS/ATM and safety service use.
Following completion of an STC installation on a Falcon 900 aircraft of the RTCA DO-178 Level-D software and DO-254 Level D hardware, expected in December of this year the AVIATOR 700D system will allow for FANS (Future Air Navigation System), CPDLC (Controller Pilot Data Link Communications) and voice safety service operations via the system’s cockpit data and H+ voice channels.
Thrane & Thrane Looks to the Future of Cockpit Connectivity Possibilities
Thrane & Thrane is highlighting capabilities of its AVIATOR SwiftBroadband portfolio to support a host of cockpit connectivity applications. To demonstrate the possibilities of bringing wireless connectivity into the cockpit via the AVIATOR terminal’s built-in Wi-Fi, the company is showcasing iPads which include several cockpit-friendly applications including real-time weather, flight planning and crew voice services.
