The wait for the Golf R will soon be over. Next spring, the ultimate expression of one of the world's best-selling cars will arrive at Canadian Volkswagen Dealerships priced from $39,650. For this price, drivers will be treated to levels of performance never before available in the Golf line in Canada.
Based on the popular 5 door GTI model, the Golf R will feature a high-output 4-cylinder turbocharged engine tuned to produce 256 horsepower. This, coupled with the six speed manual transmission and a 4Motion all-wheel-drive system, will ensure spirited performance. Golf R specific Talladega 18" alloy wheels, high performance brakes and a lowered sport suspension will result in ride and control that is equally well-sorted.
The Golf R will come with unique styling both inside and out. An aggressive front fascia will provide the necessary intake for cooling and combustion, while side skirts and a rear diffuser will create a smooth wake. Inside, sport seats, a race-style steering wheel and colour-keyed interior trim items promise a stimulating and comfortable driving environment.
All cars will feature a sliding glass sunroof, leather trimmed seats and the RNS 510 touchscreen navigation system. A choice of five exterior colours will help personalize this limited-edition vehicle.
