Kaunas, Lithuania, 2011-11-29 14:46 CET (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Consolidated unaudited loss before tax of AB Sanitas (company code 134136296, registered address Veiveriu str. 134B, Kaunas, Lithuania) group (hereinafter - the Group) for 9 months of 2011 amounted to LTL 19, 039 thousand (€ 5,514 thousand), compared to LTL 52,959 thousand (€ 15,338 thousand) profit before tax for the same period in 2010. The Group experienced loss in 2011 due to LTL 47,567 thousand (€ 13,776 thousand) one-off expenses related to sale of company’s shares. In 2010 the Group had LTL 14,487 thousand (€ 4,196 thousand) one-off gain from disposal of the subsidiary HBM Pharma s.r.o. If the mentioned above one-off items are eliminated, the Group profit before tax would amount to LTL 28,528 thousand (€ 8,262 thousand) in 2011 and to LTL 38,472 thousand (€ 11,142 thousand) in 2010. The result for 2011 was also negatively affected by foreign currency exchange loss in the amount of LTL 13,183 thousand (€ 3,818 thousand) which was caused by PLN depreciation against EUR on Jelfa S.A. loans, denominated in EUR.
Group‘s sales for 9 months of 2011 amounted to LTL 250,099 thousand (€ 72,434 thousand), compared to LTL 256,855 thousand (€ 74,390 thousand) for the same period in 2010.
