BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - Dec 19, 2011) - VidScale, a leading provider of carrier-class content delivery network (CDN) services, federated transparent caching and bandwidth optimization for the cable, mobile and ISP markets, has been selected and deployed by Avail-TVN, the leading digital media services company, to provide key functionality for the company's AnyView multiplatform, multiscreen video service.
Avail-TVN is ushering in a new generation of digital media delivery with its white label, multiscreen video solution for service providers. AnyView will extend and enhance the traditional video-on-demand and linear television experience for end-user customers using IP-connected devices including PCs and Macs, and for mobile consumer electronics such as Apple iOS, Roku and Android devices.
"The goal of Avail-TVN is to provide our customers the ability to deliver a rich digital media experience and superior Quality of Service (QoS) across multiple types of connected devices. VidScale's MediaWarp software and multi-tier architecture enabled us to rapidly deploy carrier-class CDN functionality for value-added services our customers can pass on to the end-user," said Michael Kazmier, CTO at Avail-TVN.
VidScale's MediaWarp software met the stringent deployment and scalability requirements for carrier-grade technology required by Avail-TVN. VidScale's architecture integrates CDN and bandwidth optimization functionality in one component, and can be quickly and easily deployed.
"MediaWarp integration to our platform was quick and easy -- taking weeks, not months," added Kazmier. "With VidScale we are able to immediately deliver additional features and functionality, resulting in a higher quality, cost-effective digital solution which will be valuable to all our customers."
VidScale's MediaWarp software is used by mobile and cable operators, and ISPs who want to manage and deliver licensed and/or unlicensed rich media across their networks with the best QoS and least infrastructure investment. MediaWarp enables operators to build their own CDN, while at the same time providing federated transparent caching. Equipment suppliers can integrate this functionality to their solution in weeks.
MediaWarp software:
- Runs on any Linux based hardware, even hardware already deployed within an operator's infrastructure
- Employs the same architecture to handle managed (licensed) and unmanaged (OTT) content on the same server
- Federated & content friendly Transparent Caching
- Offers a plug-in architecture -- giving customers roadmap control
"VidScale is honored to be working with Avail-TVN to support its AnyView product," said Robert Rizika, CEO of VidScale. "Our capability to rapidly deploy key services, coupled with our expertise in carrier-class CDN software and bandwidth optimization supports Avail's goals of providing the highest QoS in the most cost-effective manner."
